ALCO #5 (ALCO S-1): Built 1947 as ALCO Plant Switcher #5; Sold to General Electric along with the former Schenectady Plant buildings in 1970; Sold into private ownership in 1989 and restored to operation; Leased to Strasburg Railroad 1991 but never used; Arrived on Adirondack Centennial Railroad in 1992 as the first locomotive to pull trains; Left late 1993 and leased to the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad in Scranton, PA; Sold by private owner to the Upper Hudson River Railroad 1997 and moved to North Creek NY; Sold to Iowa Pacific 2011; sold back into private ownership 2020 and currently in use on the Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway.

ADIX #105 (GE 44-ton): Built in 1942 for the New York, Ontario & Western Railway as #105; sold to the Salt Lake, Garfield & Western in 1951 and renumbered DS-1; eventually repainted in a U.S. Bicentennial paint scheme; donated to Adirondack Scenic in 1997 and trucked to Lake Placid to power work trains; received Adirondack logos on the patched Bicentennial paint scheme, but no number was ever applied; sold in 2005 to the Southern Railroad of New Jersey and restored to O&W gray/yellow/orange #105 in 2006; sold to the New York, Ontario & Western Historical Society in 2016 and moved to Steamtown in Scranton, PA, where it is under long-term restoration.

ADIX #300 (ALCO FB-1): Built in 1950 as Spokane, Portland & Seattle 866B-1; sold to British Columbia Railway in 1969 and rebuilt as remote-control unit RCC1 for mid-train helper service; sold in the early 2000s to a private owner who planned to cosmetically restore it to pair with his two FA-1s under mechanical restoration; sold to the Adirondack Railroad in 2026.

ADIX #705 (EMD SW1): Built in 1941 for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad as #14 and used primarily as the Louisville, KY, station switcher; sold to Hercules Powder Company in 1968 and used in Georgia; moved to the New Jersey plant in 1989 but was not used there; sold to private owners in 1992 and brought to Thendara on the first Adirondack Centennial Railroad train; repainted in 1994–95 and renumbered New York Central #705; sold to another private owner in 2007, but the locomotive remained leased to Adirondack until 2024, when it was moved to the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad in Maine.

ADIX #1502 (EMD FP10): Built in 1947 as Gulf, Mobile & Ohio F3A #884A; rebuilt in 1978 for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority as FP10 #1151 for Boston commuter service; sold in 1991 to Metro-North Commuter Railroad as #412; donated to Adirondack Scenic in 2003 along with four FL9s for parts; sold to LTEX in 2022.

ADIX #1508 (EMD F7): Built in 1953 for the Alaska Railroad; sold in 1987 to a private owner; stored first in California, then leased to a railroad in Idaho along with F7A #1506 in 1988; both locomotives were involved in a runaway that resulted in a collision that destroyed #1506; #1508 was not damaged, and the private owner moved it to the Massachusetts Central Railroad in 1990; leased by Adirondack Scenic beginning in 1998; purchased from the private owner in 2011; sold to LTEX in 2022.

ADIX #8255 (ALCO RS-3): Built in 1951 for New York Central as #8255; renumbered #5504 in 1966 and assigned to commuter trains based in North White Plains, NY; transferred to Penn Central in 1968; sold to Amtrak in 1976 and renumbered #127; sold to the Mohawk & Hudson Chapter, NRHS, in 1984; traded to a private owner in 1989; restored to operation and NYC paint as #8255 in 1993; leased to the Midland Railway Historical Association in Baldwin City, KS, from 1994–2015; the private owner initially offered the locomotive for sale before deciding to donate it to the Adirondack Scenic Railroad in 2015; being returned to service in 2026.

ADIX #9411 (ALCO S-1): Built in 1941 for Hunken-Conkey Construction as #1001; sold at some point to the United States Air Force as #7370 and eventually assigned to Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY; ownership transferred to Griffiss Technology Park sometime after the base was decommissioned in 1996; used occasionally to switch the Adirondack Scenic shop in the former Griffiss Air Force Base engine house; donated to Adirondack in 2011 and repainted; moved from Rome to Thendara in 2013; currently awaiting repairs for a return to service and stored in Utica.
